These kurikata are made of water buffalo horn and directly imported from Japan .Water Buffalo horn has been and still is the material used by craftsman for making long lasting and beautiful Kurikata, Koguchi and Kojiri. Each of our Water Buffalo horn kurikata are entirely hand made and hand finished and have a high degree of quality.

Seppa - Spacers

Seppa are 'spacers' that are made to fit on each side of the Tsuba and their function is to permit fine adjustments that relate to the tightness of the Tsuka. Each seppa is hand ground totally flat and polished by hand so as to help provide the important tight fit to the remaining parts.

These seppa has a standard pattern and are availlable in bronze and blackened bronze.

Shitodome for Kurikata

Shitodomé were designed to fit into the hole on the sides of the Kurikata and the Kashira in order to limit the fraying of the silk cord as it passes through the holes and also to add a little bit of glitter to an otherwise dark colored part.
