If you own a Japanese sword , you will need some 'tools' to keep the blade of your sword in a good shape, it comes complete with everything you need to do the job

Maintenance - Cleaning set for sword



This Traditional Sword Maintenance Kit is supplied with each piece in the Forged Steel and Forged-Folded Steel series of Paul Chen / hanwei and is also available separately





Always keep in mind that while a sword may be a beautiful piece of art, it is primarily a weapon. Always be alert & careful and Do NOT test it for sharpness by running your thumb along the edge.



The kit contains blade oil, rice papers, an oiling cloth, a powder ball for blade polishing, a brass awl and hammer and saya shimming veneer. The kit is contained in a fitted wooden box and full maintenance and handling instructions are included.

Bij elk zwaard hoort natuurlijk ook een kit om dit in zo goed mogelijke staat te bewaren.
Bij een Hanwei zwaard hoort dan ook een hanwei cleaning kit (dacht ik). Dus kocht ik me dit ann...
De kit is mooi gepresenteerd in een authentiek doosje. Over de kwaliteit van de producten heb ik niets aan te merken. Enkel de aantallen van rijstpapier vind ik persoonlijk wat weinig alsook het stukje stof dat erbij geleverd word. Ook de afsluiting van het oliepotje vind ik persoonlijk een beetje onpraktisch. Voor de rest is dit natuurlijk ook een must-have voor de echte zwaardenverzamelaar.

heb deze doos gekocht om het lemet van mijn samurai te reinigen en terug op te bliken .
en ja hoor na het volgen van de instructies die er bij zitten is mijn lemet terug als nieuw .
het materiaal zit inderdaad in een mooi houten doosje .
zeker aanrader om het lemet zijn glans terug te geven en vuile plekken weg te doen .

Nobody like to receive a katana or any other product with a quality problem. A loose tsuba, seppa, chip in the saya,or any other damage. So before I ship your order , I personally check the quality of the product. Only if it’s 110% ok I will ship it to you.

Placing an order online is a great thing but sometimes you feel disappointed when you receive it . Although I’m doing my very best to provide you with a lot of detailed pictures and videos where possible, I do understand your concern . So if you don’t feel comfortable with your purchase just return it. Contact me prior to returning your order. This policy does not apply on any personal made katana or customized katana.

No charging before shipping

In case you pay with visa or mastercard, your card won’t be charged automatically when placing your order. Only when I finished the quality check and the courrier confirmed the pick up of your order, your card will be billed.

Want to customize this sword ?

If this standard model is almost what you’re looking for but it need a few personal tweaks and a 100% custom katana is not an option or needed, I can always give this baby a little ‘facelift’.

Rewrapping the tsuka with the material and or color of your choice, changing fuchi & kashira , tsuba, menuki and or seppa are all possible.

A rewrap of a standard size tsuka (katana) will run around 125 euro, including cotton ito.
