Katana Wallpaper to download !
When looking for some pictures today in our archive,
I realized that over de years we collected a few
1000 high resolution pictures of katanas and other
samurai related stuff such as armors, kabuto&mempo,
different sword parts, etc. While strolling through
them, I did found some very nice ones that ..hell
I even didn’t know they were still here
The
Long Expected 9260 Konron katanas are on their
way
The most important thing to mention here is the
fact that the new 9260 Konron swords are ready.
If all goes well, which is dangerous to say, they
will leave the forge this week or next week. The
problem we face at the moment are the damn Olympics.
The security in China is on red alert now and
no transportation company is allowed to transport
swords within the whole country.
In
our little samurai sword shop, we have a lot of
things to deal with. Testing & improving katanas,
searching for new samurai swords, dealing with
manufacturers and answering weird emails.
Enjoy the blog !

Tamahagane
Tachi Sword
This beautiful Tachi sword
is made by using the traditional Iron sand or tamahagane

very different from the modern made mass production swords.
The base material from this tachi and from which tamahagane
is produced is called satestu or Iron sand if we translate
that to English.

Forging process of a Japanese Sword
Through the histroy of the samurai, the forging process
used in the creation of authentic Japanese swords is

have been refined throughout this sword’s history
however, even with all the technological advancements,
much of the work involved remains very similar to the
techniques developed...More

Samurais evolved from saburais, guardians trained in

power and their victories came a new social status for
them. When Taira Kinyomori had the control over the
